Troy Fitzgerald Interviews Deborah Armstrong

Our friend Troy Fitzgerald, of Secular Safe House, recently recorded a conversation with Deborah Armstrong (Herbert’s niece and the daughter of Dwight Armstrong). She shares her thoughts on (among other topics) child abuse in the cult, religious belief, and her very interesting plans for some of her father’s unpublished hymns! Check it out over at the Secular Safe House site.

  1. Good interview! I was friends with Debbie at AC in the mid-late 80’s, and it was a pleasure to hear her speak.

  2. Wow, that was very cool. I hadn’t known what to expect. I liked it a lot! Of course, the “inside story” was riveting, but also really enjoyed her views on Dogmatism–People are dogmatic, and since people make the religions, the religions are then also dogmatic…or that’s her current philosophy, though she refuses to be dogmatic about it. 😉

  3. This was great. I very much enjoyed hearing Deborah’s thoughts and experiences, some that I can hugely relate with, so interesting. I’m looking forward to sharing this and I think that there are many who benefit from hearing interviews like these. We so often just need to know that we are not alone in our journey, our past and our experiences, negative and positive.
